Why people quit Network Marketing?

Well, you probably already know that the main reason people quit is because they don’t make any money or because they spend themselves out of money.

However, did you know that you could actually make them quit or reduce the amount of people who quit your team if you do a few things differently?

Here are some reasons why people might quit your network marketing business:

  • You give them false expectations before the get started.

    You might tell them anything you think they need to hear before they join.

    For example

    you might say that you really don’t have to sell the products, the products sell themselves. When people see the business opportunity they are ready to join, before they watch the entire presentation they will be ready to join. The only thing you have to worry about is how many times per week you want to go to the bank to deposit the checks.

  • They are not prepared for what family and friends tell them.
    When your new team member gets started in network marketing they might experience some well-intentioned friends and family members telling them that what they are doing will not work.

    They might tell even tell them that they are involved in a scam or a pyramid scheme. It would be better if you just focused on your job and forget about these get rich quick schemes.

  • It is extremely cheap to get involved in a Network Marketing business.
    One of the benefits of network marketing is that anybody can get involved because it only cost a few hundred to a few thousand dollars to get started. The downside of network marketing is that anybody can join because it is so cheap. Since it is so cheap to get involved most people don’t think twice about quitting as compared to someone who invest $100k to join a traditional business.

    If you had to invest $20k or more to join an MLM business you would get a lot more people who are serious about building a business and not quitting.

  • You or your prospect don’t know why they joined.
    A lot of people get new reps started and they don’t have a clue as to why they joined the business or what their driving force is. If your prospect doesn’t know why they joined the business they also won’t know why they should build or why they shouldn’t quit.

  • You Push your prospect to achieve what you want and not what they want
    Your prospect might only want to make $500 a month but you’re trying to get them to do work that will make them $10k a month. Understand that your goals are not your prospect’s goals. If you try to make them feel that they’re goals are small or not good enough they will quit.

How Do you stop them from quitting?

The truth is no matter what you do people will always quit. No one or no industry has 100% retention. People quit at everything.

However, if you follow these tips you will reduce the amount of people who quit your business.

Before you recruit someone let them know what is required of them if they want to make money. Let them know that if they want to make a little money or a lot of money they will need to put in the work.

Let them know that people will make fun of them and tell them that they are involved in a scam or a pyramid scheme. People will tell them that they are wasting their time and they need to just keep working at their job. Ask them if they let the opinions of others dictate how they run their life or are you someone who makes your own decisions.

Don’t put your expectations on your prospects, find out why they want to accomplish and show them how to do it and leave them alone.

Inspire your team with your own actions. Do everything you want your team to do.

How to Create Raving Fans

In this week’s show Eric talks about what drives the whole business building machine, and that is a concept called Raving Fans.

As you’re building your network marketing business, one of the most important things to do is to create a culture of raving fans about your product or service. People are so passionate about your product or service that they’re sharing it with the entire world.

According to Eric in order to create Raving Fans, there are a number of things that you need to do within your organization. The first is your own personal passion. You need to be the number one cheerleader. Perhaps you have heard from leaders or others that the product doesn’t matter, it is all about the opportunity, and Eric says that belief does not serve you, nor the business. Some the biggest earners are Raving Fans, and what that means is, without product sales, there is no opportunity. So number one is a chief raving fan.

The second way is to create your own product or service story. That means you need to use the products whenever appropriate and to use them publicly whenever you can so you can brag about it. As Eric further explains when you start telling your product or service story, and other people in the organization see that they’re going to start telling their product or service story. So start creating a culture where everybody is sharing stories. However, just because maybe that was the result for you, it might not be the result for everyone so make sure the stories are within the compliance of your company and what you can legally say. There is no need to over-hype it or exaggerate.

The third way to become a raving fan is through training. The more people know about the products or services and how they’re delivered and how they’re created, the background behind them, and the studies and the whatever, the people behind the products. They more they know about it, the more passionate they’re going to get. The best companies and leaders have training on the product or service all of the time. They are training and educating people.

As Eric explains, the reason you need to be a raving fan and to create raving fans is for retention. People will stay in the business longer and people stay customers longer. This creates stability and builds residual income. Million Dollar Interview with Clive Leach and Diana Ross

 

In this week’s Million Dollar Interview, Eric interviews power Network Marketing couple Clive Leach and Diana Ross. They are from the UK and also have a home in Florida. They are number 2 in their company and have over 178,000 thousand customers in their organization and throughout their career in Network Marketing, they have earned over 14 million in commissions. Diana is a master promoter and Clive is an amazing trainer, and together they have built an empire which has forever changed their family’s future and contributed greatly to countless others.

However, things were not always this bright in their lives and with their financial security. Diana tells us of being a young girl of only 11, and her parents had just split from a bad marriage, and she and her mom were broke and struggling very hard. When she became old enough to work at the age of 14, Diana went on a crusade to find a job. After many No’s, she finally got a Yes and found a job so she could help contribute to the struggling household. By the time Diana had finished her primary education, she was offered a place at the university, but she turned it down. Diana wanted to get married and have a family. When she was 22 years old she had her first son, and then her second son followed 5 years later, however, she was still struggling to make ends meet, and she was working all kinds of part-time jobs to provide for her children. She knew there had to be a better way, but she didn’t know what that was. It wasn’t until she lost twins, which were born premature and only survived 24 hours, that she realized how short life could be, and a sense of urgency to find a better way took hold of her.
Clive’s story is a bit different, he was raised by both parents in the middle-class household and was educated at good school, and then went to work in the textile trade. While on a business trip to America he encountered two American gentlemen who showed him the power of leverage and he was blown away. He went back to the U.K. and a network marketing opportunity came along and he joined. That was in 1986, and he has been growing, building, and learning ever since.

Once Diana made the decision to join a network marketing company, she went all in with her recruiting efforts and was quite successful at it, however, she still didn’t understand the concept of duplication. It wasn’t until her upline held a home meeting and Clive came to give a training on duplication that she understood the leverage. This was also the meeting where Clive and Diana first met and fell in love…and a powerful force united. Diana was amazing at promoting and Clive was the master of training and leadership, and a union of the both was destined to be great.

Diana and Clive have been in Network Marketing for over 25 years, and they went through a couple of different network marketing companies before they found the company they are currently with and have been with for the past 19 years.

When asked why Network Marketing for all of these years, they both agreed at first it was for financial reasons, but as time passed and financial goals were met and they were making residual income, it became about contribution to others. To help others live their dreams and meet their goals.

Clive and Diana give this advice to anyone just starting out or currently building: “Think about where you are in life right now, and then think about where you would like to be? What does that look like? What does this provide for you and your family? What do you drive? Where do you live? Where do you travel?” “Write it all down in a journal and keep it with you every day, because, on this journey that you’re going to go on, things are going to get tough sometimes. Sometimes things don’t always work out, but you open that up, and you look at what you’ve written down, and that will help you get through those tough times. “

The Pros and Cons of Competition

In this week’s show, Eric Worre talks about the pros and cons of competition and how competition, when used appropriately, can help you grow your business.

As Eric explains there can be a good side to healthy competition in this business. If you are like him and a competitive person by nature, then a little competition can really propel you into action because you like to win. For example, Eric tells a story of when he first got started in Network Marketing, there was a little competition amongst his team to see who could bring the most people to the next regional training event. He had only been with the company for 3 weeks, but he was determined to win, and he called everyone he knew to get them to the event. He did win, and received a hundred dollar bill for his efforts. That type of healthy competition is what drove him in the early stages through some of the ranks.

If you are a competitive person, sometimes you need to create a little competition to help motivate you. Such as, find someone at the same rank as you and create a little contest to see who will advance quickest, or who will bring the most people to the next convention, or who will add the most people in the next 30 days. As Eric tells us, you can use competition to create kind of an artificial reason to do the things you should be doing anyways. He further explains that you can also do this with your group… find out who in your team is driven by competition and use that to help catapult them to the next level, much like a sibling rivalry. For example, is Person A is getting ready for the next rank and so is Person B, spur a little rivalry between them to see who will get there first.

Eric warns us though, always do it in the name of fun and to drive enthusiasm, and not to cause hurt or negative feelings. Because the flip side of this equation is some people have negative feelings towards competitions. Some react negatively or feel pushed into doing something they aren’t ready to, nor want to. This can also be dangerous if the competition becomes close to comparing. Not everyone comes from the same background, or is bringing the same life experiences to the table, so it is important for it to be fun, and not make anyone feel it is a comparison of their efforts to others.

In conclusion competition can be good. It was for Eric, and it can be for some people in your organization, maybe even for you. There’s nothing like fun competition so long as it’s not mean spirited. Use it if they’re driven by little short term goals as leverage to get more action, more activity, help them face their fears and insecurities and take action.

How to Get Unstuck

In this week’s Network Marketing Pro show, Eric Worre discusses how to keep momentum going in your business and how to get “unstuck”.

There is much talk in network marketing about taking massive action, making big goals, hitting big numbers, and big recruiting, but sometimes you might just get stuck and lose momentum, and the next thing you know, you have a lost day. Sometimes a lost day turns into more than one lost day, and that turns into lost opportunity.

Eric explains that to best break this pattern, you just need to do one thing and get that win. If you just do one thing every day in the pursuit of the growth of your business, you will find yourself in a new rhythm and developing belief and confidence to be able to build on that. What you don’t want to happen is to have lost days accumulate without stopping them.

Eric teaches us that once you get a little bit of momentum, you’ll find yourself on track and more productive. Once you get our momentum going, then give you can it a major burst for a week, month, or 90 days in order to be able to create radical results and success in your business.
